On March 13, workers at restaurants in New York, California, and Michigan brought lawsuits against McDonald’s and franchisees against illegal pay practices. From forcing employees to work off the clock, to denying breaks, to cutting overtime pay, withholding pay makes it all the harder for fast food workers to pay their rent and care for their children.
