This pamphlet is about the
 Endo-Cannabinoid System .

Every cell in the human body comes equipped with endogenous cannabinoid or endo-cannabinoid receptors built-in, and in a dizzying array of different unique, specific-chemically encoded varieties. Our bodies are naturally hard-wired to respond to and, as the prefix endogenous indicates, produce those cannabinoid chemicals which are found in Cannabis Sativa and Cannabis Indica. Cannabinoids are a natural component of mothers’ breastmilk, and this is no accident.

The endo-cannabinoid system is responsible for maintaining the homeostasis of every cell in the body. It is an electro- chemical highway that links the nervous system, the immune system, and the digestive system, and it is present in almost every animal species on the planet.

Cannabinoids are neuro-protectants that insulate the brain from sudden physical shock and they play a vital function on control of our bodies’ most basic reactions to physical stimuli. They regulate energy intake and nutrient transport and storage within cells, facilitating inter-cellular communication and the various processes of the nervous system.

Exo-cannabinoids, those present in the cannabis flowers, behave exactly as endo-cannabinoids; our bodies cannot tell the difference.

Within the flower of the cannabis plant there are 64 unique cannabinoids.  Delta-9 Tetrahydrocannabinol and Cannabidiol, THC and CBD, are the two best known and most thoroughly researched.

Delta-9 Tetrahydrocannabinol  (THC) is the cannabinoid responsible for the elevated state referred to in popular culture as “getting high.” Cannabidiol, abbreviated CBD, is THC’s non psy-co-active cousin. Most people have heard of THC, but only recently has CBD begun to be talked about. What they’ve been saying is good. Very good.

Extensive research has been conducted on the effects of CBD on tumor genesis, and it has been shown to not only slow growth but to cause apoptosis, natural cell death, in cancerous cells of every variety.

Scientists in Spain, Canada, and the UK have demonstrated recently in lab studies that CBD has the effect of destroying cancer cells. In fact, it has been observed to reduce and reverse the effects of numerous diseases including diabetes, arthritis, multiple sclerosis, leukemia, fibromyalgia, Parkinson’s disease, Crohn’s disease , Alzheimer’s , and even to destroy the HIV/AIDS virus. In all, 200 conditions have been shown to be cured by cannabinoids.

How is this possible?

Cancer is a set of diseases characterized by out-of-control cell growth caused by a genetic mutation. Despite their genes’ mutation, cancerous cells still come equipped with cannabinoid receptors.

When a CB2 cannabinoid plugs into a receptor located on a cancerous cell an apoptotic reaction occurs; the genetic mutation which has caused the cell to divide unchecked is corrected and the cell dies naturally.  Other cannabinoids work in the same way to correct every syndrome, disease, or chronic condition they have been tested against. They repair damaged DNA, arrest the growth of blood vessels which supply tumors with blood, and dampen an overactive immune system.

The most effective cannabis-derived medicine is commonly referred to as Simpson Oil. It is made simply by dissolving cannabis buds in alcohol, reducing them to a molasses-like substance. This oil contains all 64 known cannabinoids, which work synergistically to restore living systems to their best functioning.

Even more importantly, cannabis oil cannot be patented. The healthcare industry, medical insurers, and the pharmaceutical industry have stood in the way of legalization for decades; some of them knowing of Cannabis’s curative properties, because they know this information spells the end of their monopoly on our health.

United States Patent 6630507:
Filed by Hampson; Aidan J.
(Irvine, CA), Axelrod; Julius (Rockville, MD), Grimaldi; Maurizio (Bethesda, MD)

Filed on: Oct. 7th, 2003

Abstract: “Cannabinoids have been found to have antioxidant properties, unrelated to NMDA receptor antagonism. This new found property makes cannabinoids useful in the treatment and prophylaxis of wide variety of oxidation associated diseases, such as ischemic, age-related, inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. The cannabinoids are found to have particular application as neuroprotectants, for example in limiting neurological damage following ischemic insults, such as stroke and trauma, or in the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease and HIV dementia. Nonpsychoactive cannabinoids, such as cannabidoil, are particularly advantageous to use because they avoid toxicity that is encountered with psychoactive cannabinoids at high doses useful in the method of the present invention. “

Above is the abstract of the United States patent on Cannabinoids as a cure for numerous diseases, filed in 2003 through the Department of Health and Human Services. It can be viewed online through the US Patent office website.

Government Finally Allows Study of Cannabis for PTSD Therapy

Government Finally Allows Study of Cannabis for PTSD Therapy

“The Arizona study had long ago been sanctioned by the Food and Drug Administration, but under federal rules, such experiments can use marijuana only from a single, government-run farm in Mississippi. Researchers say the agency that oversees the farm, the National Institute on Drug Abuse, has long been hostile to proposals aimed at examining possible benefits of the drug.”

$1.24 Million in Tax Money from Cannabis Sales Boon for Colorado, Tip of the Iceberg

“In several cases, some of those sharing data had only sold recreational pot for four days due to complications with obtaining their state and local licenses.

In a back-of-the-napkin calculation, those who shared the data say they figure February’s tax collections in Colorado likely will exceed a quarter of a million dollars a day, putting it on pace to near $100 million annually.”

More Evidence that Cannabis Cures Cancer

More Evidence that Cannabis Cures Cancer

ABSTRACT: The cannabinoid 1 (CB1) and cannabinoid 2 (CB2) receptor agonist Δ9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) has been shown to be a broad-range inhibitor of cancer in culture and in vivo, and is currently being used in a clinical trial for the treatment of glioblastoma. It has been suggested that other plant-derived cannabinoids, which do not interact efficiently with CB1 and CB2 receptors, can modulate the actions of Δ9-THC. There are conflicting reports, however, as to what extent other cannabinoids can modulate Δ9-THC activity, and most importantly, it is not clear whether other cannabinoid compounds can either potentiate or inhibit the actions of Δ9-THC. We therefore tested cannabidiol, the second most abundant plant-derived cannabinoid, in combination with Δ9-THC. In the U251 and SF126 glioblastoma cell lines, Δ9-THC and cannabidiol acted synergistically to inhibit cell proliferation. The treatment of glioblastoma cells with both compounds led to significant modulations of the cell cycle and induction of reactive oxygen species and apoptosis as well as specific modulations of extracellular signal-regulated kinase and caspase activities. These specific changes were not observed with either compound individually, indicating that the signal transduction pathways affected by the combination treatment were unique. Our results suggest that the addition of cannabidiol to Δ9-THC may improve the overall effectiveness of Δ9-THC in the treatment of glioblastoma in cancer patients. Mol Cancer Ther; 9(1); 180–9″

Uruguay Has Legalized Marijuana!

Uruguay Has Legalized Marijuana!

“This is an adjustment to fix a contradiction in Uruguayan law where use is legal but access isn’t,” Hetzer said. So in that sense, the country’s giant leap is more of a baby step. The consumer’s relationship with weed won’t change much, but the country will collect taxes when it is legally sold in places like pharmacies. But it also means that Uruguay’s previous experiment with marijuana liberalization paved the way for full legalization of marijuana sales. That incremental approach is why Hetzer, and others, hope the country will signal a shift across the continent and then the world.

“There’s so much interest in what Uruguay is doing, because there’s so much awareness that our current approach isn’t working,” Hetzer said. “If Uruguay does this well, which I’m confident it will, there will be other countries that follow suit soon.”
